CM Yogi announces big Diwali gift: Salaries to be credited directly in their bank accounts

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced significant benefits for sanitation workers just ahead of Diwali. Speaking in Kashi, he stated that salaries will now be directly credited to workers’ bank accounts, ranging from ₹16,000 to ₹20,000 per month. He emphasised that direct payments will prevent exploitation of sanitation workers.

CM Yogi further announced that all sanitation workers will receive Ayushman cards. This will enable them to access free medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh, alleviating concerns about healthcare costs. On the occasion of Diwali, CM Yogi said, “We will distribute sweets to every cleanliness worker. We want a lamp lit in every poor household and Diwali sweets to reach all.”

During his two-day visit to Kashi, CM Yogi visited Annapurna Rishikul School in Shivpur. He distributed over 250 sewing machines to girls, provided computer training to several students, and handed out laptops.

He highlighted the importance of women’s safety, respect, and self-reliance through the Mission Shakti initiative, stating, 'Our Indian culture has always given the highest importance to the dignity, security, and independence of women.

In his Varanasi visit on Monday, CM Yogi visited the residence of renowned Hindustani classical musician Pandit Chhannulal Mishra to pay his respects following Mishra’s recent passing at the age of 91. Pandit Mishra, a recipient of the Padma Vibhushan in 2020, was honoured by placing flowers before his portrait
