Congress on back foot after Chidambaram's statement, BJP said - their party has no future
The BJP on Friday took a dig at Congress leader P Chidambaram's remarks on the opposition alliance INDIA. The BJP said that even Rahul Gandhi's close aides know that the Congress has no future. In fact, Chidambaram had expressed concern over the opposition alliance on Thursday and said that he was not sure that the alliance was still intact.
On the remarks of the senior Congress leader, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that when the INDIA alliance was formed, its common goal was to come to power. For this, even if they had to become anti-India, abuse Prime Minister Narendra Modi or demoralize the armed forces.
He alleged that the voters have rejected the 'arrogant' alliance because its leaders had come together not to serve the people but to fulfill their selfish interests. Bhatia said that now Chidambaram has said that the INDIA alliance is over. BJP leader Shehzad Poonawala said that INDIAA has a 'wrestling-dosti' model and this alliance has been formed only for 'selfishness'.
Commenting on Chidambaram's statement, another BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said in a post on X that Congress leader P Chidambaram has predicted - 'The opposition will not survive in the future, the BJP is a formidable organization.' He said that even Rahul Gandhi's close associates know that the Congress has no future. The BJP cannot be defeated.
Chidambaram had given a statement on the alliance
Earlier, speaking at the launch of Salman Khurshid and Mrityunjay Singh Yadav's book 'Contesting Democratic Deficit', Chidambaram said, 'The future of the opposition alliance is not as bright as Mrityunjay Singh Yadav has said. He feels that the alliance is still intact, but I am not sure.'
Reacting to Chidambaram's remarks, senior BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar said even Congress people have started realising that the INDIAA is known for its corruption. BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh described the opposition alliance as a "bunch of corrupt leaders" and said people have lost faith in the alliance and rejected the INDIAA. Syed Zafar Islam termed the opposition alliance as an "arrogant alliance" and said they have no fu
