EC to Add Candidate Photos on EVMs in Bihar Polls

To avoid voter confusion, the Election Commission will display color photos of candidates on EVMs in the upcoming Bihar elections.

The Election Commission of India has made changes to the EVM ballot paper rules ahead of the Bihar elections, aimed at making the election process more transparent and smooth. Under Rule 49B of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, EVMs will feature color photographs of candidates to facilitate voter identification. The Commission has also decided to print the names of all candidates, including NOTA, in the same font.

Candidate Color Photos on EVMs
The Election Commission announced that EVMs will feature color photographs of candidates starting with the Bihar Assembly elections. From now on, the candidate's face will occupy three-quarters of the photo on the EVM, making it easier for voters to identify the candidate.
