Election Commission Slams Rahul Gandhi: "Why Not File a Formal Complaint?"

Election Commission Slams Rahul Gandhi:

Responding to Rahul Gandhi's allegations of electoral irregularities, the Election Commission issued a sharp remark, questioning why a formal complaint wasn't lodged if discrepancies were observed. The exchange adds tension to the ongoing political discourse.

The Election Commission on Sunday again reacted sharply to the allegations made by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi through an article regarding irregularities in the Maharashtra assembly elections. Highly placed sources associated with the Election Commission say that if Rahul Gandhi feels that the matter is very serious then he should complain about it in writing.

Why he is not doing so is also interesting. Anyway, it has been more than 24 hours since these fresh allegations were made by him. The Election Commission is waiting to receive the complaint in writing so that it can respond to it. According to sources associated with the Commission, Rahul Gandhi's seriousness on this issue is also known from the fact that he calls it a very serious issue in the article but he never asked for time to meet the Commission on this issue.

Meeting held with five political parties
If this issue was serious then he should have met the Commission and put it prominently. Anyway, the Commission is busy discussing election issues with political parties these days. Recently, all the six national parties were invited by it for separate talks. Except for Congress, it has already held meetings with the heads and top officials of the other five political parties.

It had also proposed a meeting with Congress on May 15, but Congress cancelled the meeting citing other engagements. After Rahul Gandhi's allegations, high-ranking sources associated with the Commission have also clarified that the Commission has already given answers to the Congress party on the issues raised by Rahul Gandhi in his article.

Complaint will be answered

Even after this, if any written complaint is received from Rahul Gandhi, then it will again answer it. The Commission is a constitutional institution, it will definitely answer if it receives a written complaint. On the question of Rahul Gandhi demanding evening CCTV footage of polling stations in Maharashtra, sources associated with the Commission said that as per the Commission's instructions, CCTV footage of polling stations can be examined by the High Court if an election petition is filed, but it cannot be made public just like that.

This will end the privacy of voters. Why does Rahul Gandhi want to violate the privacy of voters? He should rely on the High Courts to investigate any irregularities. It is worth noting that Rahul Gandhi had written an article on Saturday and made serious allegations against the Election Commission of irregularities in the Maharashtra Assembly elections.
