Enumeration Form Finally Available Online: Election Commission Enables Digital Access for Voters

After a brief delay, the Election Commission has enabled online access to the SIR enumeration form in West Bengal, offering voters a digital alternative to the ongoing door-to-door distribution by Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The move aims to make the process easier for those who are away from their registered address or residing outside the state for work.

The form can now be accessed on the Commission’s official portal — https://voters.eci.gov.in. To fill it, voters must log in or register on the site, select their state, and verify their details using their EPIC (Voter ID) number. Once authenticated, the enumeration form becomes available for digital submission.

However, linking of the EPIC number with a valid mobile number is mandatory. Officials clarified that those without a linked number will first need to complete the linking process on the same portal before accessing the form. The option to update mobile details is available under the “Form 8” section on the website.

According to Commission sources, the online form mirrors the structure of the offline version, requiring details such as name, address, constituency, and part number. Voters whose names appeared in the 2002 roll can confirm or update their information, while new voters can enter fresh details step by step.

BLOs began physical distribution of the forms earlier this week, while technical adjustments delayed the portal’s activation. The issue has since been resolved, and the digital form went live on Friday.

Officials said the online rollout is intended to ensure wider participation and convenience, particularly for migrant workers and professionals living outside the state, marking a significant step toward a more accessible voter enumeration process.
