The narco analysis report of Ganesh Gondal, an accused in the Rajkumar Jat unnatural death case, was submitted before the Gujarat High Court on Wednesday, with the accused denying any role in assault or conspiracy linked to the incident. The court has scheduled the next hearing for January 15.
According to submissions made during the hearing, Ganesh Gondal was subjected to a narco test in which he was asked 31 questions. During the examination, he reportedly denied beating Rajkumar Jat or being part of any plan leading to his death. The government prosecutor informed the court that the findings of the narco analysis do not support the allegations levelled in the complaint.
Placing the status of the investigation before the court, the prosecutor said the probe was carried out keeping five key aspects in focus. These included technical evidence, call detail records (CDRs), narco analysis findings and statements of witnesses. He added that the narco test report would be placed before the appropriate trial court as part of the ongoing investigation record.
The narco test was conducted following an order passed by a Rajkot court on December 5, which granted permission for the examination. Ganesh Gondal was subsequently taken to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Gandhinagar, where the medical procedures began on December 9. The narco analysis commenced on December 11 and was completed the same day.
The case relates to the death of Rajkumar Jat, a youth preparing for the UPSC examinations, whose body was found near an overbridge on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway in March 2025. On March 9, Rajkumar’s father, Ratanlal Jat, alleged that former Gondal MLA Jayrajsinh Jadeja and his son Ganesh Gondal were responsible for assaulting his son, leading to his death.
Rajkumar, who lived in Gondal, had gone missing on March 3. When he failed to return home for two days, his father lodged a missing person complaint with the Gondal City B Division Police on March 5 and also alerted the Rajkot Rural Police. Posters seeking information about Rajkumar were displayed across the city, including at the bus stand.
Police later stated that Rajkumar had died in a road accident around 3 am on March 4 in the Kuwadwa Road police station area. His body was identified by family members on March 9, after which a post-mortem examination was conducted and the body was handed over to the family.
The case continues to draw attention due to the serious allegations involved. The High Court is expected to review further submissions and investigative material during the next hearing.
