Ahead of the upcoming elections, discord within the India Alliance has resurfaced as Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren expressed displeasure over being excluded from a key meeting. Sources suggest that the JMM, led by Soren, may independently contest 15 seats in Bihar, signaling potential challenges for the coalition's unity.
The undeclared bugle of Bihar assembly elections has been blown. All the alliances have started brainstorming about seats for the elections to be held in November this year. At the same time, the conflict between the constituent parties of India Alliance, which gave the slogan of 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' before the elections, has once again emerged at the time of elections. Hemant Soren's party JMM was not invited to the meeting of India Alliance in Bihar. This has angered Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. According to sources, JMM can contest alone on 15 seats in Bihar. These seats will be adjacent to the border of Jharkhand.
Party spokesperson Dr. Tanuj Khatri said that in the 13th session of JMM held on 14-15 April, a decision has been taken to expand the organization at the national level. Ignoring Hemant Soren, a big leader of the tribal and backward community, is not right at all. At the same time, RJD has alleged discrimination in Jharkhand.
JMM has made it clear that if it does not get proper respect in the alliance, then it can decide to contest elections on 15 seats in Bihar. This includes many seats including Chakai seat of Banka district adjoining Deoghar, Katoria, Jhajha, Jamui, where the party hopes for success. Dr. Khatri warned other components of India Block that JMM's boycott can benefit BJP and India Block will be weakened.
RJD responded
At the same time, RJD media in-charge Kailash Yadav said that JMM does not have a strong influence in Bihar, so the final decision on its participation in India Block will be taken by the top leadership of the party. RJD alleges that other components are discriminating against the party in Jharkhand.
Tejashwi Yadav has been camping in Ranchi for 6 consecutive days, but the party has got only 6 seats, whereas it had claimed to contest on 22 seats. Also, 4 MLAs of RJD who won the election are in the government, yet the party has not been given a place in the TAC formation, board corporations and coordination committee of the government. Only Congress and JMM have been included in these places. RJD has raised the question that who is its relative in Jharkhand?
