JP Nadda Skips Dhankhar Meet, Responds to Congress

BJP President JP Nadda did not attend Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's meeting, prompting reactions from Congress. Nadda has now responded to the opposition’s claims, clarifying the reason behind his absence.

Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda on Tuesday clarified that the Vice President's Office was already informed that he and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju would not be able to attend the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting called by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

This meeting was held on Monday evening, shortly after which Dhankhar resigned from his post. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had raised questions about the absence of Nadda and Rijiju. After this, JP Nadda said that the Vice President's Office had been informed about their absence.

Nadda made this statement after an important meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, in which Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal were also present.
