Political unrest grows in Maharashtra as several trusted leaders of CM Eknath Shinde, along with 40 party workers, switched to the BJP, signaling rising displeasure within the party ranks.
Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde has suffered a major setback in Solapur, Maharashtra. Many officials of Eknath Shinde faction have left the party along with about 40 workers. All of them joined BJP on Monday (August 18). When the leaders were asked the reason for this exodus from the party, they blamed the internal strife in the Shiv Sena Solapur unit.
Resigned 15 days ago
According to the report of news agency PTI, former Shiv Sena leader Dilip Kolhe has informed that he and other officials had resigned from their posts 15 days ago. The leader says that he had informed the higher officials about the situation of the party in Solapur district. However, no action was taken. In such a situation, expressing displeasure, the leaders have resigned.
Eknath Shinde's clash with BJP minister
Ever since BJP leader Ganesh Naik joined Devendra Fadnavis' cabinet in Thane politics, he has been seen constantly challenging Eknath Shinde. Since becoming a minister, he has not let any opportunity to corner Eknath Shinde go waste.
Once again a BJP minister has attacked the Shiv Sena chief. On August 22, minister Ganesh Naik is going to hold a public darbar in Thane. He was also recently heard saying that Eknath Shinde had hit the jackpot for the post of Chief Minister. In response to this, Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske said that Ganesh Naik is a senior leader and minister, he should refrain from making such statements. However, this definitely proves that everything is not well between Eknath Shinde and the BJP leadership.
Decision to join BJP after meeting
Dilip Kolhe said that he called a meeting of party workers and everyone unanimously decided to join BJP. Let us tell you that Shiv Sena led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is a part of the ruling party Mahayuti along with BJP and Ajit Pawar led NCP.
