Mayawati's Shocking Remark on Election Commission & Violence

BSP chief Mayawati made a sharp statement questioning the Election Commission's role, saying, “If Election Commission is okay with bloodshed…” Her comments come amid rising concerns over poll-related violence, sparking political reactions. Here's why she said it.

The statement of BSP chief has come out regarding the violent incidents in Bihar. Mayawati posted on Instagram and said, although in Bihar, the cases of atrocities, murders and caste-based exploitation especially against Dalits, backward classes, exploited, poor and their women etc. and depriving the people of these classes of their rights have always been a topic of much discussion, but in the sequence of violent incidents and murders continuing before the assembly general elections in the state, the recent sensational murder of Gopal Khemka, a prominent industrialist and leader of the ruling party BJP, in the capital Patna, has heated up the politics of the state in a new way along with the poor condition of law and order in the state, in relation to which bloodshed, if the Election Commission takes cognizance right now and takes appropriate action, then it will be better for conducting peaceful elections.

Further Mayawati said, during the special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar before the elections, all these violent incidents are being done by whom and for whose selfishness, not only the coalition government of the state is in the dock regarding this, but the politics is also quite heated on this, it remains to be seen what effect it will have on the political equation and elections of the state in the future.

Not only this, Mayawati also said, by the way, our party, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), is a party of Bahujans, especially Dalits, other backward classes, deprived, exploited, poor and laborers etc., which is fighting the general election of Bihar Assembly on its own strength under the principle and policy of doing politics on the basis of body, mind and money of its cadre and well-wishers and that is why it is appealed to the Election Commission that whatever strict steps are needed to be taken to free the Bihar elections from misuse of government machinery as well as muscle power, money power and criminal power etc., then it must be taken on time so that the election campaign proves to be free and fair.
