Mohan Yadav Cabinet Approves Space Tech Policy 2026 and 800 MW Solar Projects

The Madhya Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, approved the Space Tech Policy–2026 in a cabinet meeting on Monday, marking a significant step toward advancing satellite manufacturing and technology in the state. The policy aims to attract ₹1,000 crore investment over the next five years and is expected to generate around 8,000 jobs.

Alongside the space tech policy, the cabinet cleared three solar energy projects totaling 800 MW to promote renewable energy. These include a 300 MW solar project with 4-hour storage, a 300 MW solar project with 6-hour storage, and a 200 MW solar project with 24-hour storage. These initiatives are part of the state’s broader efforts to strengthen green energy infrastructure.

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla emphasized that the space policy will encourage local-level satellite production and technology development. “This policy provides a framework for sustainable investment in high-tech sectors while creating employment opportunities across the state,” he said.

The cabinet also revisited a previous land allocation decision related to Indore’s Jama Masjid for facilities including a hospital, library, community hall, park, and school. The agenda seeks to reconsider a decision originally taken during the Digvijay Singh government in 2003. No final decision has yet been communicated.

This session marked the government’s first high-tech cabinet meeting, with ministers using tablets instead of physical files to review proposals, reflecting an effort to enhance e-governance, ensure transparency, and reduce paperwork. CM Yadav highlighted the ongoing “Sankalp Se Samadhan” campaign, which aims to connect eligible beneficiaries of 91 schemes from 16 departments directly at the household, cluster, and district levels from January to March 2026.

In addition, the cabinet approved ₹5,000 crore for urban infrastructure development across municipal bodies under the fifth phase of the Chief Minister Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme. Projects include master plan roads, sewage and water supply systems, street safety measures, and traffic improvements.

CM Yadav also directed precautionary measures during the Makar Sankranti festival to prevent accidents caused by Chinese kites and extended best wishes to the people of the state.
