MLA Baraiya, representing the Bhander constituency in Datia district, had earlier made comments that were widely condemned for their insensitive and offensive nature. While speaking about sexual assault, he allegedly linked it to caste and made derogatory references to women from SC, ST, and OBC communities.
Responding to these statements, CM Yadav said, “This is the outcome of the mindset of certain Congress leaders who repeatedly disrespect women. Such remarks are disgraceful and unacceptable. Rahul Gandhi must apologize publicly, and the MLA should be expelled from the party.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that comments like these not only hurt the dignity of women but also reflect poorly on the political culture. He further stated that every leader has a responsibility to maintain respect for women, regardless of caste or social background.
During the visit, CM Yadav was received by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Mayor Pramila Pandey, MLA Surendra Maithani, MP Ramesh Awasthi, and other BJP leaders at the CSA heli-pad. Following the media interaction, he paid tribute by laying flowers at the statue of Chandra Shekhar Azad on campus grounds.
The Chief Minister also had a brief meeting with former President Ram Nath Kovind, inquiring about his well-being during the ceremony.
Baraiya’s controversial statement had triggered a political storm across Madhya Pradesh and beyond, drawing criticism from civil society groups, women’s organizations, and opposition parties.
