Naresh Meena Blames Money Power for Anta By-Election Defeat

Former MLA Naresh Meena has alleged that large-scale cash distribution by the Congress party determined the outcome of the recent Anta by-election. Speaking to the media at Khatushyamji on Saturday, Meena claimed that voters in the constituency were paid between ₹8,000 and ₹20,000, with a total of around ₹150 crore reportedly spent to influence the results.

Former minister Rajendra Gudha, who accompanied Meena, described the contest as a battle between “money power on one side and ruling power on the other.” He noted that voters are increasingly seeking alternatives beyond Congress and BJP, suggesting a potential opening for a third front in Rajasthan.

Meena emphasized that his prayers at Khatushyamji focus on seeking strength, not personal favours. He plans to visit Kashi to seek blessings and will tour villages in Anta to engage directly with residents and understand local issues.

Looking ahead, Meena announced plans to consolidate a broader political front for the 2028 assembly elections. He intends to meet leaders including Hanuman Beniwal, Akhilesh Yadav, and representatives of the Aam Aadmi Party to bring like-minded leaders together.

Gudha praised Meena’s resilience, highlighting his year-long imprisonment, fasts, padyatras, and participation in three elections under challenging circumstances. He noted that the Anta by-election witnessed intense campaigning from senior leaders, including former CMs Vasundhara Raje, Ashok Gehlot, and incumbent Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
