The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday released its ‘Sankalp Patra 2025’ for the Bihar Assembly elections at Hotel Maurya in Patna. The manifesto was unveiled by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and BJP President JP Nadda, with Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary presenting its key highlights as senior leaders began their campaign across the state.

The NDA pledged to provide 1 crore jobs over the next five years and extend ₹2 lakh financial assistance to women, aiming to make 1 crore women ‘Lakhpati Didis’. Other major promises include free education from KG to PG for underprivileged families, completion of the Mata Janaki Temple, development of ‘Sitapuram’, and the launch of metro services in four cities.

Key highlights from the NDA manifesto

Shortly after the release, leaders including Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and JP Nadda left for campaign events, while Samrat Choudhary addressed the press to elaborate on the manifesto’s contents.

Party statements and reactions

  • Samrat Choudhary said the manifesto is focused on youth, women, backward classes, Dalits, and farmers, promising all-round development.

  • J.P.S. Rathore described it as a “manifesto of Bihar’s development,” asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands as the guarantor for every promise made.

  • Guru Prakash Paswan said Bihar is set to play a key role in the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, highlighting the progress made through new institutions like AIIMS, IIT Patna, IIM Bodh Gaya, and Nalanda International University, along with new airports in Darbhanga and Purnea.

  • Rajeev Ranjan Prasad of JDU stated that 50 lakh jobs have already been created between 2020 and 2025 and challenged the opposition to present their own record.

  • Dilip Jaiswal called the manifesto a symbol of the guarantee of PM Modi and the trust of CM Nitish Kumar, asserting that the people’s faith rests with the NDA.

Vision shaped by public input

The NDA stated that the Sankalp Patra was prepared after gathering over 1 crore suggestions from citizens across Bihar’s 243 constituencies through 3,000 suggestion boxes placed between October 5 and 20.

The document contains 25 major promises, laying out a roadmap for employment generation, women’s empowerment, and infrastructure-led growth in the state.
