Newly appointed Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary announced an imminent organisational reshuffle in his first press conference on Monday, contrasting the party's merit-based system with what he called the Samajwadi Party's dynastic politics.
Chaudhary, who took charge on December 14 after months of speculation, highlighted BJP's internal democracy. "An ordinary worker can rise to Prime Minister or state president here," he said, citing examples like former CM Kalyan Singh and PM Narendra Modi, both from backward classes.
He accused SP of confining leadership to family, noting Akhilesh Yadav's 2012 elevation over seniors like Azam Khan. Chaudhary redefined SP's 'PDA' slogan as "Parivarik Dal Alliance," extending the jibe to INDIA bloc parties.
On team formation, he promised a consultative process prioritising workers. "I don't play deceptive politics—every worker counts," Chaudhary stressed, vowing to address grievances and fight for their interests.
The BJP will mark Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth anniversary with 'Atal Smriti Saptah' from December 25-31 across districts, featuring events on his legacy. PM Modi will inaugurate a national inspiration site in Lucknow on December 25, followed by Veer Bal Diwas on December 26.
Chaudhary's appointment drew over 15,000 workers to a grand event, seen as kicking off 2027 assembly poll preparations. He pledged relentless advocacy: "Workers are my priority—I will fight for you."
Since arriving in Lucknow, Chaudhary has held back-to-back meetings, signalling an active push to energise the cadre ahead of electoral battles.
