No Entry Without Appointment: New Rule for Secretariat Visitors

Whether you're an MP, MLA, or a common citizen, entry into the Secretariat will now require a prior appointment or valid approval.

Without it, access will be strictly denied, signaling a push for tighter security and streamlined administration.

Guidelines have been issued in the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department to ensure compliance with the Secretariat 2018 policy. According to which, if any contractor or common man has to meet any officer, then a pass will have to be issued for him. The name of the concerned officer will be written on the pass and it will be valid only to go to his room.

Along with this, a pass will also be issued from the police post. In which the reference of the concerned officer is necessary. Otherwise, no one will be able to enter the Public Works Department headquarters. The vehicle will be allowed to enter the premises only if the MLA and MP are present in their vehicle. Otherwise, you will have to come only after getting a pass.

Let us tell you that these rules have been made citing the work being affected due to unnecessary crowd. However, a few months ago, a contractor's quarrel with an officer posted in the Public Works Department is also being cited as the reason for this.
