Pappu Yadav Slams Giriraj Singh as 'Psycho' and 'Shikhandi' in BJP; Ritu Jaiswal Seeks RJD Backing as Independent – Bihar Polls Heat Up

Independent P Mirror MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav, launched a scathing attack on Union Minister Giriraj Singh, branding him a "psycho" and comparing his role in the BJP to "Shikhandi" – a Mahabharata character symbolizing strategic vulnerability.

Yadav urged Singh to focus on developmental achievements rather than provocative rhetoric. "Everyone knows his standing in the BJP; he's merely a Shikhandi there," Yadav quipped, escalating verbal sparring amid Bihar's intensifying assembly election campaign.

In a related development shaking Sitamarhi's Parihar constituency, aspiring leader Ritu Jaiswal, denied an RJD ticket, declared her independent candidacy. On Thursday, she posted an open letter on social media to RJD supremo Tejashwi Yadav, challenging the age of the party's official nominee and pleading for Grand Alliance endorsement as an independent. Jaiswal's move highlights internal rifts within the opposition Mahagathbandhan, potentially splitting anti-NDA votes in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.

Meanwhile, RJD's sitting MLA from Masaurhi, Rekha Devi, encountered fierce local backlash during a midnight door-to-door campaign on Wednesday. Villagers accosted her, demanding accountability for a decade of alleged neglect in infrastructure and development. The confrontation underscores growing voter frustration with incumbent performance, boosting NDA's narrative on governance failures.

Adding fuel to the electoral fire, Tejashwi Yadav unveiled populist pledges in a solo presser ahead of the alliance's joint briefing. If elected, RJD promises permanent jobs for contractual workers like Jeevika Didis with salary hikes from ₹10,000 to ₹30,000, full regularization of exploited staff, and flagship schemes: MAA (Makan-House, Anna-Food, Aamdani-Income) and BETI (Benefit, Education, Training, Income) for women's empowerment.

As Bihar gears up for polls, these incidents – from Pappu Yadav's jibes at Giriraj Singh to Tejashwi's schemes and grassroots protests – signal a bitterly contested battle. Political analysts predict heightened polarization, with development and accountability dominating voter discourse in key seats like Purnea, Sitamarhi, and Masaurhi.
