Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh’s marital dispute continues to attract media attention as his wife, Jyoti Singh, is scheduled to visit the Jan Suraaj office at Shekhpura House in Patna at 2 PM today.
Ahead of her visit, Jyoti shared a Karwa Chauth poster on Facebook, mentioning Pawan Singh. This comes after her recent visit to Pawan’s Lucknow residence, which sparked renewed controversy between the couple.
Background of the Dispute
The ongoing tension between Pawan Singh and Jyoti Singh resurfaced on October 5 when Jyoti went to Pawan’s Lucknow flat. The meeting reportedly lasted around 90 minutes. After their conversation, Pawan left, and Jyoti stayed behind. Police arrived soon after, creating a tense situation.
Jyoti later posted a video on social media, tearfully claiming harassment. She said:
“I came to Pawan Singh’s house in Lucknow. Pawan ji has filed an FIR against me, and the police have come to take me. I am so troubled that I feel I might die by consuming poison. Only my dead body will leave this house.”
She added that she had come to Lucknow following the advice of others who promised support:
“You said—‘Bhabhi, please go, we will see who removes you from the house.’ How will I get justice now?”
Prior to this, on October 3, Jyoti had posted on social media: “I am coming to Lucknow and will wait to meet you.” She reportedly stayed at the Lucknow flat for two days, pleading to return home.
Allegations by Jyoti Singh
1. Infidelity during elections – Jyoti alleged that during the Lok Sabha election campaign, Pawan Singh stayed in hotels with another woman while she campaigned and supported him:
“No respectable woman would tolerate this. That’s why I left.”
2. Detention and harassment – She claimed she was being harassed and denied the right to stay at home, questioning how someone who cannot do justice to his own wife could serve society.
Pawan Singh’s Response
On October 6, Pawan Singh addressed the allegations on social media:
“I know only one thing in life — the public is my God. How can I hurt their sentiments?”
He clarified:
- He had invited Jyoti to his house, and they spoke for 90 minutes.
- Her main demand was for him to contest elections, which was beyond his control.
- Police were present merely to ensure no untoward incident occurred.
At a press conference on October 8, Pawan Singh said:
“Family matters are discussed privately, not in front of cameras. Why was this revealed only a month before elections?”
He added that he monitored the situation closely and ensured Jyoti faced no harm during her visit.
Family Background and Marital History
Jyoti Singh’s father, Ram Babu Singh, is an influential figure in Ballia, and her uncle has served as a Member of Parliament. Jyoti is Pawan Singh’s second wife; his first wife, Neelam Singh, married in 2014, tragically committed suicide a year later.
Pawan and Jyoti married on March 6, 2018, in Ballia. Tensions reportedly arose within months, with Jyoti later accusing Pawan of forcing an abortion and making threats. In 2021, Pawan filed for divorce at the Ara Family Court, with the case still pending. Despite previous disputes, Jyoti campaigned for Pawan in the 2024 elections as he contested independently from Karakat, but reports of their separation resurfaced after the results
