Priyanka Gandhi Targets PM Modi at Motihari Rally, Promises INDIA Bloc Victory if Polls Are Fair

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi addressed a large election rally in Govindpur, East Champaran, on Thursday during the first phase of Bihar elections, sharply criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government.

Gandhi took aim at the Prime Minister’s focus on opposition campaign posters rather than governance, saying, “What kind of speeches does the Prime Minister give? He measures our posters instead of working for the people. Does he have no other work?” She accused Modi of deflecting from real issues and alleged that the opposition was being unfairly targeted.

Referring to her brother Rahul Gandhi’s recent rally, she claimed the government was engaging in vote manipulation. “If the elections are fair, the INDIA bloc government will surely form,” she said, urging voters to hold the ruling establishment accountable.

Highlighting infrastructure and employment issues, Gandhi pointed out that “27 bridges have collapsed in three years” and alleged widespread unemployment had forced nearly half of Bihar’s population to migrate for work. She further accused the central government of favoritism, stating, “Modi ji handed over Bihar’s industries to his two friends, destroying the nation’s wealth.”

Targeting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, she said, “The government is run from Delhi. His only concern is Tejashwi’s photo not appearing on Congress posters.”

Gandhi also criticized alleged pre-election money distribution, claiming, “They are giving ₹10,000 to voters because elections are near. Their intentions are not good. Take the money, but think carefully before voting.”

The Congress leader’s speech combined sharp political critique with appeals to voters’ sense of justice and civic responsibility. Her address drew loud cheers from the crowd, reflecting significant public engagement in the ongoing electoral process.

The first phase of Bihar elections continues across several districts, with political parties intensifying campaigns and outreach ahead of voting and counting dates. Gandhi’s rally in Motihari underscored Congress’s focus on governance, corruption, and local infrastructure as key electoral issues
