Rahul Gandhi Questions PM Modi’s Courage at Bihar Rally, Says ‘Indira Gandhi Had More Strength’; Alleges Modi Stopped ‘Operation Sindoor’ After Trump’s Call

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public rally in Nursarai, Nalanda, as part of his Bihar campaign. Addressing a large gathering, Rahul questioned Modi’s courage, alleged that the Prime Minister halted ‘Operation Sindoor’ after a phone call from former U.S. President Donald Trump, and accused the BJP government of trying to dismantle the Constitution.
Rahul began by addressing Bihar’s youth, saying,
“Wherever I go in India, I find people from Bihar—working hard and helping build cities like Dubai and Bengaluru. So my question is: if you can build those cities, why can’t you build a prosperous Bihar?”
He reflected on Bihar’s glorious past, recalling how Nalanda University was once a global hub of learning that attracted scholars from Japan, Korea, and England. He lamented that today Bihar’s education system is known for paper leaks and corruption, leaving deserving students behind while those with connections succeed.
Rahul Targets Nitish Kumar and BJP
Continuing his speech, Rahul accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of being under the BJP’s influence.
“Nitish Kumar is running on a remote control managed by the BJP from Delhi. He no longer takes independent decisions,” Rahul said.
He asserted that the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) stood firmly against vote theft, claiming that their government would already be in power had elections been fair.
“If votes weren’t stolen in Maharashtra and Haryana, we’d have a Mahagathbandhan government today,” he declared.
‘Modi Doing Drama Over Chhath Puja’
Rahul Gandhi also accused PM Modi of using Chhath Puja for political gain.
“Modi has nothing to do with Chhath Puja or Bihar’s traditions. He only wants your votes. To win elections, he can perform any drama—even dance on stage if you ask him to,” he said.
He mocked the PM’s recent ritualistic acts, adding,
“Instead of bathing in the Yamuna, he bathed in a swimming pool with clean water brought through pipelines—just for a photo opportunity.”
‘PM Modi Lacks Courage’
Rahul directly questioned the Prime Minister’s resolve, saying,
“Modi doesn’t have the courage to act. The U.S. President has insulted India nearly 50 times. He even claimed that he stopped ‘Operation Sindoor’ with a single phone call—and Modi got scared. He didn’t even dare to deny it and is now avoiding meeting Trump altogether.”
Rahul contrasted Modi’s leadership with that of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, saying she had far greater strength and decisiveness than Modi.

He also praised the people of Bihar, saying,
“Biharis are intelligent and hardworking, with deep political awareness. The only problem is that your government doesn’t work for you.”
Before leaving Patna, Rahul Gandhi interacted with children at the airport, posed for photographs, and departed without speaking to the media.
