New Delhi
MP Rahul Gandhi strongly reacted to Home Minister Amit Shah's recent statement, alleging that the BJP and RSS are against English education for underprivileged children. His remarks have intensified the ongoing political debate on language and education in India.
Politics is heating up in the country over language. Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has given a sharp reaction to the recent statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), he said that these organizations do not want the poor child to learn English and move forward.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi shared a post on social media platform X and wrote that "English is not a dam, it is a bridge. English is not shame, it is power. English is not a chain - it is a tool to break chains. BJP-RSS do not want poor children of India to learn English - because they do not want you to ask questions, move forward, be equal.
He further said that in today's world, English is as important as your mother tongue - because it will provide employment, boost self-confidence. Every language of India has soul, culture, knowledge. We have to cherish them - and at the same time teach English to every child. This is the way to an India that competes with the world, which gives every child an equal opportunity.
Rahul Gandhi also shared a video in the post, in which he described English as "a weapon". He said, if you learn English, you can enter anywhere. If you learn English, you can go to America, Japan and anywhere else and work. With English, you can learn English and become a weapon. Those who are against you do not want you to get a job worth crores of rupees. They want the door to remain closed for you, but English is your biggest weapon.
