MP CM Mohan Yadav Accuses Congress of ‘Double Standards’ on Naxalism, Highlights Government Achievements

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav launched a strong criticism of the Congress party on Thursday, accusing it of adopting a “double standard” approach towards Naxalism while praising the BJP government’s efforts to tackle the issue.

Speaking to the media at Indore airport before attending the wedding of BJP MLA Golu Shukla’s son, CM Yadav said the previous Congress government allowed extremist activities to flourish due to weak political leadership. “During Congress rule, Naxalism grew unchecked. Their own minister was killed by Naxalites. The root of the problem was the then Chief Minister, who now expresses sorrow over Hidma’s death,” he remarked.

He added that the current BJP administration has decisively acted to bring several districts under control, significantly reducing Naxal influence and ensuring safer conditions for citizens.

CM Yadav also highlighted the developmental achievements of his government over the past two years, noting a sharp increase in irrigation capacity from 42 lakh hectares to 100 lakh hectares. He cited ongoing large-scale infrastructure and rural development projects that are expected to boost economic growth and benefit youth and economically weaker sections.

“The government has focused on programs that empower the youth and marginalized communities while addressing longstanding issues left unresolved by the opposition,” he said.

After the media interaction, CM Yadav attended the wedding ceremony of MLA Golu Shukla’s son, extending his congratulations to the newlyweds and interacting with local party workers. He also participated in the traditional breakfast, sampling local delicacies including Rabdi.

Political analysts note that the Chief Minister’s comments aim to consolidate the BJP’s image as a strong governance force in the state, while positioning the Congress as ineffective on internal security and Naxal challenges. The remarks are expected to feature prominently in ongoing political debates ahead of upcoming state and national-level elections.
