Both factions celebrated the foundation day in Pune by organizing separate programs. NCP state president Sunil Tatkare said that joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was a collective decision taken for the 'welfare of the people' and not the decision of Ajit Pawar alone. Ajit Pawar is currently the Deputy Chief Minister.

We were on the verge of joining the NDA, but the decision changed at the last moment. He said that in 2023, the party under the leadership of Ajit Pawar decided to join the ruling alliance for the welfare of the people. Tatkare said, "We joined the NDA without compromising on our secular ideology and the ideology of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Shahu Maharaj. He made it clear that the party's journey will continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.
