Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the RJD-Congress alliance during a rally in Raxaul, East Champaran, urging voters to reject the “Mahagathbandhan” and prevent the return of what he called “Jungle Raj” in Bihar.
Addressing a large gathering, Adityanath accused the opposition of deceiving the poor, looting farmers, and spreading lawlessness during its previous tenure. “What jobs will they give, who have usurped your land and eaten fodder meant for animals? The Mahagathbandhan only seeks to grab the ration of the poor,” he said, appealing to the youth not to be “misled by those who destroyed the state.”
He claimed the first phase of polling had clearly indicated public support for the NDA and warned against repeating past mistakes. “Before 2005, Bihar was synonymous with fear, kidnappings, and massacres. The lantern symbol was a certificate for dacoity,” he remarked, taking aim at the RJD.
The UP Chief Minister also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, asserting that India had undergone a remarkable transformation in the last 11 years. “Under Modi Ji, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh regained their respect and identity. There is good governance today, not lawlessness,” he said.
Adityanath further attacked the opposition for objecting to renaming cities, saying such steps were taken to “restore India’s ancient identity.” He accused the Congress and Samajwadi Party of rejecting Lord Ram and Krishna, adding, “We renamed Faizabad as Ayodhya and Allahabad as Prayagraj to honour our heritage.”
Concluding his address, Adityanath warned mafias in Bihar of strict action if the NDA returns to power. “In Uttar Pradesh, the mafia have only two options — a ticket to Yamraj’s house or losing their illegal property to build homes for the poor,” he said to loud applause
