Yogi Adityanath Honours Sahibzadas at Veer Bal Diwas Kirtan in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended a solemn Kirtan Samagam at his official residence on Friday to mark Veer Bal Diwas, commemorating the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's younger sons, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh.
The event also observed the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. Wearing a saffron turban, the CM greeted children dressed as the Sahibzadas and appeared emotional during their performance.
Raagi jathas performed soul-stirring Gurbani kirtan, filling the venue with devotion as Sikh devotees gathered in large numbers.
Adityanath described the Sahibzadas' sacrifice as an inspiration transcending the Sikh community, belonging to India's collective conscience. "Their martyrdom at a tender age for faith and truth remains one of history's most inspiring chapters," he said.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to declare December 26 as Veer Bal Diwas, noting it instills values of courage, patience, and sacrifice in youth.
The CM called for connecting future generations with this heritage, emphasising unity and patriotism.
The programme concluded with reverence, reinforcing interfaith harmony and national pride on this day of remembrance.
