An example of this was seen in Satara district of Maharashtra, where a 65-year-old elderly woman drives an auto rickshaw every day to run her household expenses, and has also become an inspiration for the entire society. The name of this elderly woman with high spirits is Mangala Awale.

The life of Mangala Tai, who lives in a village named Nandgaon in Satara district of Maharashtra, was not easy. After her husband's death, she raised four children alone. She educated them by working as a labourer and put them on the right path. Today her son is a driver in the state transport and her daughters are married.

Age did not become a wall, it became a strength

Despite having a disease like diabetes, Mangala Tai started driving an auto herself for her treatment and self-reliance. Her son taught her and in just 15 days she came on the roads, that too without any fear.

Travels from 9am to 6pm

Mangala Tai takes passengers from Karad to Undale every day from 9am to 6pm. With this hard work, she earns 500 to 700 rupees daily. Everyone is surprised to see her confidence even at this age. She is not just driving an auto, but is also paving the way for lakhs of women who succumb to circumstances.
