PM Modi Reflects on 2025 Triumphs: Operation Sindoor Emerges as Symbol of National Resolve

In his final Mann Ki Baat address of the year on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described 2025 as a period of remarkable milestones, singling out Operation Sindoor as a defining emblem of India's unwavering commitment to security.

The prime minister told millions of listeners that the military operation, launched in response to a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, had become "a source of immense pride for every Indian."

"The world saw clearly that today's India does not compromise on its safety," Modi said, noting how citizens across the country expressed deep patriotism during the brief standoff.

He painted 2025 as a year when India asserted itself boldly across domains—from defence and sports to space exploration and cultural revival.

On the sporting front, Modi celebrated historic victories: the men's cricket team lifting the ICC Champions Trophy and the women's side claiming their maiden World Cup title. He also praised successes in blind cricket, the Asia Cup, and para-athletics world championships.

In science and space, the prime minister highlighted Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla's mission to the International Space Station—the first by an Indian in decades—and growing conservation efforts that pushed the cheetah population beyond 30.

Cultural highlights included the grand Prayagraj Mahakumbh, which drew global awe, and the flag-hoisting ceremony at Ayodhya's Ram Temple, alongside nationwide celebrations for Vande Mataram's 150th anniversary.

Modi credited public enthusiasm for homegrown products with bolstering the 'Make in India' and 'Vocal for Local' initiatives, reflecting a surge in national self-reliance.

Wrapping up, he said 2025 had instilled "even greater confidence" in the nation.

"Now, we stand ready to embrace 2026 with fresh hopes and bold resolutions," the prime minister declared, urging citizens to carry forward the year's momentum.

The address, the 129th episode of the popular radio programme, underscored India's rising global stature amid challenges.
