Hoki-Kobayashi defeat Satwik-Chirag to reach Denmark Open final

apanese duo Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi defeated India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty 21-16 in the deciding game to enter the men’s doubles final at the Denmark Open 2025.

The semi-final clash at the Jyske Bank Arena was a thrilling three-game contest that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Both pairs played aggressive, fast-paced badminton filled with quick exchanges, sharp smashes, and smart net play.

Although the Indian pair fought hard to push the match into a deciding game, Hoki and Kobayashi’s consistency and calm under pressure helped them seal the victory.

The match began with the Japanese pair taking the first game 21-16 through precise placements and quick reflexes at the net. Satwik and Chirag, however, bounced back strongly in the second game. They displayed excellent teamwork, attacking play, and solid defence to win 21-18 and level the match.

The decider saw both teams start evenly, but Hoki and Kobayashi soon took control with well-timed smashes and sharp interceptions. The Japanese combination kept their focus in the crucial moments, while the Indians made a few unforced errors that shifted the momentum. In the end, Hoki and Kobayashi wrapped up the match with another 21-16 win in the final game.
