“All three players are tracking well and should be ready for the World Cup. We’re optimistic about having them fully fit before our departure,” Bailey said.
Australia Aim for Balanced Squad in Subcontinental Conditions
The Australia T20 World Cup squad 2026 includes a careful mix of experience and youth—reflecting the team’s adaptability to the spin-friendly conditions expected in India and Sri Lanka. With Group B matches set to take place in Colombo and Pallekele, spin versatility has been a key selection focus.

“The continuity in this side has helped us identify the right balance. The conditions in Sri Lanka and India can vary, so depth in both pace and spin was critical,” he said.
Key Inclusions and Misses
All-rounders Cameron Green and Cooper Connolly return after missing the T20I series against India earlier this season. Josh Inglis has been named the sole wicketkeeper, while Mitchell Owen and Ben Dwarshuis have missed out on selection.
Cricket Australia also confirmed that a separate squad will be announced for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, which serves as a final tune-up before the World Cup.
