After a gap of 3149 days, Karun Nair marked his comeback with a crucial half-century in the Test match against England, playing a key role in rescuing Team India.
The Indian team has made a comeback after a bad start in the fifth and final Test match. Karun Nair has also made a comeback and scored an unbeaten half-century. Before this match, he was dismissed after scoring 00 20 31 26 40 and 14 runs in six innings. India has scored 204 runs for the loss of 6 wickets on the first day.
After playing an unbeaten innings of 303 runs against England in Chennai in December 2016, Karun Nair could not perform well in three Tests and after that he was dropped from the Indian team in such a way that he once had to say that cricket give me one more chance. He played the last Test in March 2017 and when no one expected that he would get a chance in the biggest format of cricket. Then he scored so many runs in domestic cricket that he got a chance to return.
He was selected in the ongoing five-Test series in England under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. Before this match, he was out after scoring 00, 20, 31, 26, 40 and 14 runs in six innings. Due to this, he was not played in the Manchester Test and then once again everyone started saying that this 33-year-old cricketer has played his last Test, but God had something else in mind. Due to Rishabh Pant's injury and grass on the pitch, the Indian team planned to play a long batting order in the last Test at the Oval, due to which Nair (52 not out) got another chance.
