Asia Cup 2025 Super-4 Schedule Set: Sri Lanka and Bangladesh join India-Pakistan showdown

Asia Cup’s Super-4 stage is officially locked in, with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh securing the final two berths alongside India and Pakistan. Sri Lanka’s thrilling chase against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi on Thursday clinched their spot and, in turn, ensured Bangladesh also advanced under the tournament’s qualification scenario.

Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan: Sri Lanka needed 101 runs to leapfrog Bangladesh and Afghanistan in Group B. Afghanistan posted 169 batting first, but Sri Lanka raced to victory with an over to spare, marking their third straight win and finishing Group B with six points. Had Sri Lanka faltered, Afghanistan’s superior net run rate would have edged them through, leaving Bangladesh eliminated; instead both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh progress.

India and Pakistan: In Group A, both India and Pakistan topped the table. Pakistan’s win confirmed the marquee India vs Pakistan Super-4 match on 21 September in Dubai. This high-stakes clash promises to be the tournament’s highlight, reviving one of cricket’s greatest rivalries under the lights at Dubai International Stadium.

Super-4 Fixtures:

  • 21 September: India vs Pakistan (Dubai)

  • 24 September: India vs Bangladesh (Dubai)

  • 26 September: Sri Lanka vs India (Sharjah)

The Super-4 points table will determine the two finalists, who will meet on 28 September in Dubai for the Asia Cup 2025 title.

Group Stage Finale: One Group A fixture remains today as India faces Oman in Abu Dhabi. Despite India having already secured Super-4 qualification, this match offers an opportunity to rest key players like Jasprit Bumrah and trial bench options ahead of the Super-4 stage.

With the Super-4 schedule confirmed, fans can now mark their calendars for high-octane encounters, beginning with the India-Pakistan blockbuster on 21 September. The Asia Cup’s defining stage is set to deliver intense rivalries, crucial net run-rate battles, and a tantalizing final under the Dubai lights.
