Bangladesh Squad for Asia Cup 2025: Asia's biggest cricket Mahakumbh i.e. Asia Cup 2025 is going to be organized in UAE from 9 September. The final is to be held on 28th. 8 teams will compete for the title. Out of these, Bangladesh team has been announced.
The atmosphere has been created regarding Asia Cup 2025. First Pakistan, then India, then Hong Kong and now Bangladesh team has also been announced. Late night on 22 August, Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced its 16-member team for this tournament to be held in UAE from 9 September. The command of the team will be in the hands of wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das, under whose leadership Bangladesh has performed well recently. The squad has a mix of experienced and young players. The biggest thing is that wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan has returned after almost 3 years, while the responsibility of the fast bowling department will be on Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed.
Liton Das (captain) and Tanjid Hasan will handle the responsibility of opening for the Bangladesh team in Asia Cup 2025. 4 players Soumya Sarkar, Mehdi Hasan Miraz, Tanvir Islam, Hasan Mahmud have been included as reserve players.
Bowling responsibility on Mustafizur and Taskin
Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed will be the main weapons of the team in the fast bowling department, while all-rounder Shak Mahedi Hasan and spinner Nasum Ahmed will strengthen the team.
No place for former captain
Mehdi Hasan Miraz, who was part of the last T20 International team, could not retain his place in the 16-member team, this is the same Mehdi Hasan, who is currently the captain of the ODI team, but he was kept in the reserve list for the Asia Cup 2025 to be held in T20 format. Not only this, former captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto has not got a place in the team.
There is a tough competition in Group-B
Bangladesh has got a place in Group-B, where they will face Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. This team will play its first match on 11 September. Then it has to play on 13 September and the last group stage match on 16 September.
