Cricket Australia Supports Players' Decisions on IPL Return Amid Security Concerns

Cricket Australia has announced it will support individual decisions of its players regarding participation in the resumed IPL 2025 season, following its suspension due to India-Pakistan tensions. Coordination with the Australian government and BCCI is ongoing to ensure player safety, with considerations also given to the upcoming World Test Championship final.

IPL 2025 was suspended midway on 9 May due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan. The situation was so serious that the foreign players hurriedly returned to their respective countries. But now peace has been restored on the border, the situation is getting normal after the ceasefire and the new schedule of IPL has also come out.

The remaining matches of IPL will start from 17 May and will run till 3 June. The biggest question before this new beginning is – will the Australian players return to India? Meanwhile, Cricket Australia has clarified its stand on playing its players in the IPL.

Cricket Australia wrote on the social media platform X that their players will decide for themselves whether to go back to play or not, in which we are with them. The team management will work closely with all the players who will be part of the squad for the final match of the World Test Championship and decide to play in the IPL matches. At the same time, we are in constant touch with the Australian government and BCCI regarding the security arrangements.
