Cristiano Ronaldo scores in his 25th consecutive season as Al-Nassr beat Al-Riyadh 4-0, taking his professional career tally to 977 goals.
Cristiano Ronaldo has added another milestone to his remarkable football career, becoming the first player in history to score in 25 consecutive professional seasons. The Portugal captain reached the landmark on August 21 as Al-Nassr defeated Al-Riyadh 4-0 in the Saudi Pro League.
The 41-year-old forward came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute and found the net in the 83rd minute to complete Al-Nassr’s four-goal victory. The goal was also the 977th of Ronaldo’s professional career, taking him another step closer to the much-discussed 1,000-goal mark.
Ronaldo Starts 25th Season With Goal
Ronaldo began his professional scoring record with Sporting CP during the 2002-03 season. Since then, he has scored at least once in every season of his career.
His latest goal means he has now extended that streak to 25 consecutive seasons, moving ahead of Swedish football great Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ibrahimovic had previously held the record after scoring in 24 consecutive seasons between 1999 and 2022-23.
The achievement further extends Ronaldo's extraordinary longevity at the highest level of professional football.
Came Off Bench Against Al-Riyadh
Ronaldo was not included in Al-Nassr's starting XI against Al-Riyadh. He entered the match in the 62nd minute with his team already holding a 3-0 advantage.
The Portuguese forward needed only around 20 minutes to make an impact. In the 83rd minute, he converted a low cross from Ayman Yahya from close range, scoring Al-Nassr's fourth goal of the night.
The result gave Al-Nassr another strong start to the season, with Ronaldo once again making his presence felt despite beginning the match on the bench.
977 Career Goals for Ronaldo
The goal against Al-Riyadh took Ronaldo's professional career tally to 977 goals. He has continued to score regularly even at the age of 41 and remains within 23 goals of reaching 1,000 career goals.
For Al-Nassr, the latest strike was Ronaldo's 130th goal in all competitions since joining the Saudi club.
His continued scoring form has kept the veteran forward among the most closely followed players in world football, particularly as he approaches another major career milestone.
Al-Nassr Win 4-0
Al-Nassr dominated Al-Riyadh to secure a 4-0 victory. Abdulilah Al-Amri, Angelo Gabriel and Joao Felix were also on the scoresheet, while Ronaldo completed the scoring late in the match.
The victory was Al-Nassr's second win of the season and provided another positive result as the Saudi Pro League campaign progresses.
