All-rounder Deepti Sharma has reached the pinnacle of the ICC Women's T20I bowling rankings for the first time in her career, topping the list released on December 23.
The 28-year-old gained five rating points after bowling an economical spell of 1/20 in four overs during India's opening T20I victory over Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam on December 21. She now leads Australia’s Annabel Sutherland by a single point.
Deepti’s ascent caps a stellar 2025 season. Earlier this year, she earned Player of the Tournament honours at the Women’s T20 World Cup, claiming 22 wickets and scoring 215 runs across nine matches, including a match-winning 5/39 in the final that helped India lift the trophy by 52 runs.
Meanwhile, Jemimah Rodrigues climbed five places to No. 9 in the T20I batting rankings after an unbeaten 69 off 44 balls in the same match against Sri Lanka. Smriti Mandhana remains at No. 3 and Shafali Verma holds the No. 10 spot.
In the bowling charts, Arundhati Reddy jumped five places to No. 36.
Elsewhere, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt dethroned Smriti Mandhana to claim the No. 1 spot in the ODI batting rankings. Wolvaardt amassed 255 runs in the recent 3-0 series win over Ireland, including back-to-back centuries (124 and 100).
Sune Luus also made significant strides, rising seven places to No. 34 in ODIs and 11 spots to No. 22 among all-rounders.
Ireland’s Arlene Kelly gained five places to reach No. 27 in ODI bowling, while Gaby Lewis (up four to No. 18) and Amy Hunter (up three to No. 28) improved in the batting rankings.
