Ecclestone was on a break from cricket
England’s No. 1 T20 bowler, Sophie Ecclestone, had taken a break from cricket and missed the previous series against West Indies. With her return, leg-spinner Sarah Glenn has been dropped from the squad.

Former England captain Heather Knight has also been ruled out due to injury. Lauren Filer has been named as her replacement. Apart from these two changes, the squad remains the same as the one that played against West Indies.

"We’ll Get a Good Challenge Against India" – Coach Charlotte Edwards

England Women’s Head Coach Charlotte Edwards said, “We’re ready to face India. Their team is among the best in the world, and we’re expecting a solid challenge ahead of the World Cup.”

She added, “Sophie’s return has definitely strengthened the squad. She has exceptional quality. However, her inclusion meant we had to leave Sarah Glenn out. We’re fortunate to have strong players competing for each spot, though it’s never easy to leave someone out.”

T20 Series to Run Until July 12

The five-match T20 series between India and England will take place from June 28 to July 12. The remaining four matches will be played on July 1, 4, 9, and 12. The three ODIs are scheduled for July 16, 19, and 22.
