Gambhir is travelling with his wife Natasha and daughters Aazeen and Anaiza. According to visuals shared on social media, the former India opener has been spending relaxed moments with his family, away from the pressures of international cricket.

He was seen enjoying casual outings across the city, with his daughters accompanying him throughout the trip. Family members had also attended the World Cup final in Ahmedabad, adding a personal touch to the team’s celebrations.

Temple visit after win

Shortly after the T20 World Cup victory, Gambhir, along with India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav and ICC Chairperson Jay Shah, visited a Hanuman temple. The visit was seen as a gesture of gratitude following India’s title-winning campaign.

IPL season ahead

With no immediate international assignments lined up, Gambhir is expected to remain free during the IPL 2026 window. The tournament is scheduled to begin later this month, with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening match.

KKR legacy revisited

Gambhir’s association with Kolkata Knight Riders remains one of the most successful in IPL history. He led the franchise to two titles in 2012 and 2014 as captain and later returned in a mentoring role.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has reportedly shortlisted around 20 players as part of its early preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup. The selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, will closely monitor performances during the IPL season.

Selectors are expected to attend matches across venues, with a structured plan to track players both on-site and via broadcast feeds.
