England captain Ben Stokes and Indian team captain Shubman Gill on Wednesday demanded a longer gap between Test matches, saying that a three-day break between two matches is less considering the heavy workload of the bowlers in the five-Test series.

The gap of three days in the Test did not give the players much time to recover. Before the fifth Test between IND vs ENG, Stokes said that the gap between the matches in the five-Test series could have been better. There was a gap of eight and nine days between two matches and three days between the other two. Overall, a gap of five days would have ensured continuity.
