IND vs ENG 4th Test: Gill Confirms Pant Set to Play in Manchester

India captain Shubman Gill revealed Rishabh Pant’s left-index finger injury "is not serious" and, following scans, Pant is expected to be fit for the fourth Test in Manchester, starting July 23.

 

Rishabh Pant was injured in the Lord's Test. Pant did not take up the wicketkeeping responsibility again. Dhruv Jurel took his place behind the stumps. Captain Shubman Gill has given a big update on whether Pant will be fit for the fourth Test to be held in Manchester. India lost to England by 22 runs in the Lord's Test.

Gill gave an update about Pant in the press conference after the match and said, 'Rishabh went for scans and there is no risk of any major injury. So he will be fine by the next Test.' Gill's statement will definitely give relief to Indian fans.

How did he get injured?
Let us tell you that Pant dived to his right in an attempt to stop Jaspreet Bumrah's ball on the second day of the third Test. Then he got injured and went out of the field. He did not do wicketkeeping. Dhruv Jurel took charge behind the wicket. Pant had to bat in the second innings and became the victim of Jofra Archer after scoring 9 runs.
