India sets record for most Wins in Asia Cup: IND vs BAN Highlights and Key Records

India's dominant performance in the Asia Cup 2025 continued with a convincing 41-run victory over Bangladesh on September 24, securing their spot in the final. This win not only propelled Team India to their second T20 Asia Cup final but also etched several records in cricket history. As the tournament heats up, fans are buzzing about India's unbeatable streak and individual milestones.

Mustafizur Rahman: Bangladesh's Top T20 Wicket-Taker

Bangladesh's left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman shone despite the loss, claiming one wicket to reach 150 T20I scalps. This feat surpasses Shakib Al Hasan's 149 wickets, making Mustafizur the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh in T20 internationals. His economical bowling (33 runs) highlighted his prowess, even as Bangladesh struggled to chase 169.

India's Fielding Woes: Most Catches Dropped in Asia Cup 2025

While India's batting and bowling clicked, fielding remained a concern. The Men in Blue dropped 12 catches across five matches, topping the list among eight participating teams. In the IND vs BAN clash alone, they let slip five chances. Hong Kong follows with 11 drops in three games, underscoring the need for India to tighten up ahead of the final.

Historic Milestone: India’s Most Wins in Asia Cup History

Combining ODI and T20 formats, India now holds the record for the most Asia Cup victories with 48 wins in 70 matches, overtaking Sri Lanka's 47 in 71. With just 19 losses, India boasts the best win-loss ratio among teams with over 50 games. This victory marked India's 17th T20I win against Bangladesh in 18 encounters, with Bangladesh's sole triumph dating back to 2019.

Abhishek Sharma's Six-Hitting Rampage

Youngster Abhishek Sharma dazzled with 75 off 37 balls, including multiple sixes. Since his 2024 debut, he's smashed 58 T20I sixes—the most among full-member nation players. He averages a six every 6.83 balls and reached 50 sixes in a record 331 balls. Only Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav have more instances of five-plus sixes in an innings for India.

Other Key IND vs BAN Records

Bangladesh's failure to chase under 170 in Dubai was a first for full-member teams since 2018. Kuldeep Yadav's 3/18 was pivotal in restricting them. With Pakistan vs Bangladesh looming as a virtual semi-final, India eyes a historic ninth Asia Cup title.
