IPL 2025 Cancelled Amid India-Pakistan Tensions

IPL 2025 suspended: Will the remaining matches of IPL 2025 happen? If yes, then how? After IPL 2025 is suspended, this question is in everyone's mind. Let's know what solution BCCI can find..

IPL 2025 Suspended: The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) has been stopped due to increasing military tension between India and Pakistan. The 58th match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was canceled midway on May 8 amid the ongoing tension on the India-Pakistan border, after which the 18th season has now been suspended. Now the question is what will happen next? Will all the remaining matches happen or not? Let's know what decision BCCI can take.

This is not the first time that the IPL has come under crisis. Earlier in 2021, the tournament was stopped after 29 matches due to the Corona epidemic. Later that season, the remaining matches were held in Dubai in September and the BCCI completed the tournament in 2 parts. A similar situation has arisen this time. There are still 16 matches left in IPL 2025, which includes the playoff matches as well as the final match.

Decision taken after review meeting
The BCCI is keeping an eye on the current situation. In the review meeting held on May 9, it has been decided to suspend this season. A BCCI official told PTI, 'It does not look good that cricket is going on when there is a war going on in the country.' He confirmed the suspension of the league, the league was to conclude on May 25 in Kolkata.

Now the biggest question is what will happen next with IPL 2025? To understand this, you have to remember the last season i.e. 2024. In IPL 2024, due to the Lok Sabha elections, the IPL was played in 2 phases. The first phase took place from 22 March to 7 April, while the remaining matches and playoffs were held after the elections. It is believed that when the situation between the two countries becomes normal, a similar model can be adopted in 2025 as well, but no official statement or update has come on this yet.

PSL and IPL are happening together (IPL 2025 Suspended)
This year Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Indian Premier League are being organized almost at the same time. The final of PSL will be played in Dubai on 18 May, while the final of IPL is to be held on 25 May. Due to increased tension between the two countries, PSL has shifted to Dubai, while IPL has been postponed.
