On the opening day of the Lahore Test, Pakistan ended on 313/5 against South Africa. Imam-ul-Haq was the standout batter for Pakistan, narrowly missing a century with 93 runs, while Senuran Muthusamy picked up 2 crucial wickets for South Africa.
Pakistan Batting Highlights
Shan Masood, winning the toss, opted to bat first. Pakistan’s innings began shakily as Abdullah Shafique fell for just 2, dismissed LBW by Kagiso Rabada.
Opener Imam-ul-Haq and captain Shan Masood stabilized the innings with a 161-run partnership for the second wicket. Imam’s 93-run knock included 7 fours and a six, falling just 7 runs short of a century when he was caught by Muthusamy. Shan Masood also scored a solid 76 runs (9 fours, 1 six) before being LBW to Prenelan Subrayen.
Middle-order contributions were mixed. Babar Azam struggled, scoring only 23 before being LBW to Simon Harmer. Saud Shakeel was dismissed for a duck by Muthusamy.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan added stability with an unbeaten 62 off 107 balls (2 fours, 2 sixes), followed by Salman Agha, who remained not out on 52 from 83 balls (2 fours, 1 six).
South Africa Bowling
From the visitors’ side, Senuran Muthusamy was the most successful, claiming 2 wickets, while Kagiso Rabada, Prenelan Subrayen, and Simon Harmer took one wicket each.
