India-A teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered a record-breaking performance in the Rising Stars Asia Cup, scoring a blistering 144 off 42 balls, including 15 sixes and 11 fours, to guide his team to a commanding victory over the UAE. The 14-year-old reached his century in just 32 balls, marking one of the fastest T20 hundreds by an Indian player.
Winning the toss and opting to bat at West End Park International Cricket Stadium, India-A posted a massive 297 for 4 in 20 overs. Suryavanshi anchored the innings after early loss of Priyansh Arya in the second over. Naman Dhir provided steady support with 34 runs, while captain Jitesh Sharma contributed 83 off 32 balls to push the score near 300. Ramandeep Singh remained unbeaten on 6.
UAE struggled to chase the huge target, managing only 149 for 7. Sohaib Khan top-scored with 63 off 41 balls, while no other UAE player could cross 26. Gurjapneet Singh led India-A’s bowling attack with 3 wickets for 18 runs. Harsh Dubey captured 2 wickets, and Yash Thakur and Ramandeep Singh took one wicket each.
Suryavanshi first gained international attention after scoring a century against Australia U-19 at just 13, becoming the youngest player to achieve the feat in U-19 cricket. His IPL debut came with Rajasthan Royals, purchased for ₹1.10 crore in the 2025 mega auction. After initial matches as an opener following Sanju Samson’s injury, Suryavanshi has now firmly established himself as one of India’s most promising young talents.
This record-breaking innings not only emphasizes his explosive ability but also positions him among India’s fastest T20 century-makers, equalling Rishabh Pant’s 32-ball effort. With performances like this, Suryavanshi is expected to play a key role in India’s youth cricket circuit and potentially future senior T20 sides.
India-A’s dominant display in Doha sends a strong message ahead of the remainder of the Rising Stars Asia Cup, showcasing their depth in batting and bowling.
