Vaibhav Suryavanshi Tops Google Trends in India as Nation’s Most-Searched Cricketer of 2025

Fourteen-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has emerged as India’s most-searched cricketer of 2025, according to Google Trends, underscoring his rapid rise as one of the country’s most talked-about young athletes. The Bihar-born left-hander also ranked sixth globally, reflecting his breakout performances across domestic and international youth tournaments.
Suryavanshi’s popularity surged following a landmark year that saw him dominate the IPL, Under-19 cricket and the Rising Stars Asia Cup. Signed by Rajasthan Royals in 2024 for ₹1.1 crore ,the youngest player ever to secure such a contract , he made an immediate impact in IPL 2025. His century against Gujarat Titans made him the youngest batter to score a T20 hundred, setting off a nationwide surge in interest.
In the Rising Stars Asia Cup, Suryavanshi further cemented his reputation with a blistering 32-ball century against UAE, featuring 15 sixes and 11 fours an innings that went viral and elevated him to a household name.
Priyansh Arya, another emerging talent, ranked second on the trends list. The Delhi batter, who represents Punjab Kings in the IPL, amassed 475 runs in his debut season, drawing praise for his consistent strokeplay. Abhishek Sharma secured the third spot after smashing a 12-ball fifty in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, one of the fastest half-centuries in Indian domestic cricket.
The top-five also included 21-year-old Sheikh Rasheed from Andhra Pradesh, signalling that India’s next generation of cricketers is rapidly capturing national attention.
Women’s cricket featured prominently in the rankings, with World Cup winners Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana both listed inside the top ten, reflecting the continued growth of interest in the women’s game.
Rounding out the list were Karun Nair, India U-19 captain Ayush Mhatre who has already crossed 500 first-class runs Gujarat wicketkeeper Urvil Patel and Mumbai-Kerala spinner Vignesh Puthur, all of whom recorded major breakthroughs over the past year.
The latest Google trends underline a decisive shift: India’s cricketing spotlight is expanding rapidly, with teenage prodigies leading the charge into a new era.
