Third Chhattisgarh NRI Meet Held in Chicago

‘Nacha’s’ third international Chhattisgarh NRI conference held in Chicago with Governor Ramen Deka and Minister OP Choudhary in attendance.
Chhattisgarh Pravasi Bharatiya Sangh ‘North America Chhattisgarh Association’ (NACHA) organized its third international conference in Chicago on August 2. Chhattisgarhi NRIs from various parts of the US and other countries participated in the event, which aimed to promote global networking and present Chhattisgarhi culture on the international platform.
Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka graced the event as the chief guest of the conference. He appreciated NACHA’s efforts to connect the global Chhattisgarhi NRI community and urged all NRI Chhattisgarhis to connect with the state government and encourage investment. On this occasion, 18 NRI children were honored for academic achievements and community service. These awards were presented by the Governor.
NACHA also presented its major projects in the program: Project Udaan – scholarship scheme for college students, Chhattisgarhkosh – an effort to promote Chhattisgarhi language, financial information and membership process of NACHA were also shared.
Executive President Deepali Saraogi said that this is the third international conference of NACHA, which is held every two years, and all the members were very excited to meet each other. On this occasion, a “Mr. and Mrs. Chhattisgarh NRI 2025” competition was organized, in which Shashi Sahu, a native of Bhilai and living in Chicago, became Mrs. Chhattisgarh NRI 2025. Neil Joseph, who belongs to Korba and lives in Los Angeles, became Mr. Chhattisgarh NRI 2025.
Finance Minister Om Prakash Chaudhary attended the evening session as the chief guest. He shared Chhattisgarh Vision 2047 and gave information about the developmental projects being run by the state government. He also announced that the government will soon organize an NRI conclave in the state of Chhattisgarh, so that cooperation between the state and the diaspora Chhattisgarhis can be further strengthened.
