Gas will now be made from waste in the capital Raipur. An investment of Rs 100 crore will be made to set up its plant. This will also give the government GST of one crore every year. For this, an MOU has been signed between Raipur Municipal Corporation, CBDA and BPCL in Raipur. The MoU file was signed in the presence of Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer CBDA Sumit Sarkar, Head Biofuels BPCL Mumbai Anil Kumar P., Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vishwadeep.
Under this agreement, a Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant will be set up from 100 to 150 tonnes of mixed solid waste MSW every day in Ravabhata area of Raipur. This project was started on 13 March 2024 in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw. Now BPCL will invest Rs 100 crore in the construction of this plant. During the construction and operation of the plant, permanent employment of about 30 thousand man days will be available directly and indirectly. Apart from this, large scale employment opportunities will be generated for the local people during the construction also.
