Big Reform: Land Allocation for Industries Now Through Bidding

In a significant policy shift, the 'first come, first served' rule for industrial land allocation has been replaced with a bidding process. This move aims to ensure transparency and attract competitive investments.

Raipur. Entrepreneurs setting up industries in Chhattisgarh will no longer be allotted land on first come, first served basis. The state government has amended the 2015 rule and has now made a provision to allot land to industries through bidding.

The state government has decided to amend the Chhattisgarh Industrial Land and Building Management Rules 2015. The amendment in the rules will bring more clarity and transparency in the process of allotment of industrial areas, land bank and other land blocks. With this, industrial investors will be able to understand the land allotment process better and take advantage.

When the rules are changed by the state government, revenue will be received on the lands of the industrial area. Also, cases of non-payment of the amount of land rent and other charges such as completion of formalities within the stipulated period will be reduced. Those who want to set up their industry will be able to take land in those areas which will be suitable for them, as per the establishment of their unit.

Industry has to be set up within the time limit

There are industrialists in the state who have taken land from the department at subsidized rates, but have not started production even after the time limit has expired. Such tendencies will be stopped after this amendment. Now only those needy people will come forward through this process, who really want to set up industries. The state government is constantly trying to increase investment regarding the new industrial policy. In such a situation, changes are being made in the rules so that there is no problem regarding land bank and land allocation.

Amendment in labor welfare rules also

To speed up industrial development in the state and ensure the welfare of workers, important amendments have been made in the Chhattisgarh Industrial Land and Building Management Rules, 2015. It was approved in February itself. It provides new opportunities for the use of leased land for industrial units and construction of workers' housing in industrial areas. This step is being seen as an important initiative towards making the state's industrial policy more investor-friendly and improving the living standards of local workers.

Efforts to attract industries
After the implementation of the new industrial policy, the state government is continuously trying to attract industries to the state by organizing investor conferences. In this regard, the state government has made several amendments in the new industrial policy. Through the amendments, efforts are being made to provide a good and transparent environment to industrialists in the state.
