CG Weather Alert: Heavy Rain Predicted Across Chhattisgarh for Next 5 Days

The Meteorological Department has forecast widespread heavy rainfall across Chhattisgarh over the next five days. Residents are advised to stay alert as monsoon conditions intensify across the state.
Monsoon is fully active in Chhattisgarh. It is raining in most parts of the state. For the next 5 days, light to moderate rain is expected in most areas and heavy rain at some places. Today, there is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning at some places.
During the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places in central and south Chhattisgarh. During this period, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31 degrees Celsius in Bilaspur and the lowest temperature was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius in Rajnandgaon.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through the center of the low pressure area over Sri Ganganagar, Delhi, Fatehgarh, Sidhi, Jamshedpur and coastal Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas towards the southeast to the northeast of the Bay of Bengal. At the same time, the east-west trough goes from south-west Uttar Pradesh to the cyclonic circulation associated with the low pressure area over coastal Gangetic West Bengal, which remains 0.9 to 3.1 km above mean sea level. Apart from this, a low pressure area persists over coastal Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas. An associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level also persists. It is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards over North Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand during the next 2 days.
