Diwali Raid in Bilaspur: Police Bust Gambling Racket at Farmhouse, Seize ₹69k, 3 Cars

In a major crackdown during the Diwali festival, Bilaspur police raided a farmhouse being used as a gambling den in the Kota police station area. The operation led to the arrest of nine gamblers and the seizure of a significant amount of cash and valuables.

Acting on a tip-off about illegal gambling activities at a secluded farmhouse, a police team conducted a precise raid on Saturday night. The officials surrounded the property and caught the individuals red-handed, involved in a game of chance.

The raid proved to be highly successful. The police recovered a total of ₹69,300 in cash, believed to be the stakes money from the ongoing gambling session. Furthermore, three cars used by the accused to reach the location and ten mobile phones were also confiscated from the spot. All items have been taken into police custody for further investigation.

A senior police officer involved in the operation stated, "Such illegal activities are a social menace, and it is especially concerning during festivals when people are more prone to such vices. We had specific intelligence about this gathering and acted swiftly. We are committed to maintaining a strict vigil and will continue to take action against any such illegal establishments."

All nine individuals arrested in connection with the case have been booked under relevant sections of the Gambling Act. The police are conducting a deeper investigation to determine if this was an isolated incident or part of a larger organized racket. The successful raid has sent a strong message in the region against illegal gambling activities, particularly during the festive season.
