Land prices in Chhattisgarh are going to increase soon. According to sources, new guideline rates of land will be implemented from July 1, 2025. Registration department sources say that after the implementation of the new guideline rates, land prices may increase by at least 10-15% across the state and up to 20-25% in some areas. During the survey, officials have assessed the prevailing land prices in different areas, on the basis of which new rates will be fixed. Land prices are likely to increase the most within a radius of 50 km of Raipur.
The Registration Department has completed the survey of the current market rates of land in 33 districts of the state and now area-wise and district-wise price analysis is being done. There has been a slight delay in implementing the new rates due to delay in the survey in the last few months. The special thing is that the guideline rates of land are going to change after eight years in the state.
Farmers will benefit the most from the new guideline rates. Most of the land in Chhattisgarh is owned by farmers. At present, the government gives compensation for land acquisition on the basis of the existing guideline rates, while the actual price of the farmers' land adjacent to the road is many times higher than the guideline. After the new rates are implemented, the government will have to pay compensation for acquisition according to the increased rates, which will benefit the farmers financially.
